There are typically 3 kinds of work benches in the market.

Basic Open Bench

Typical dimension comes in 60 (inches) x 36 (inches) x 34 (inches). The materials are usually made of plastic laminated top or maple top or steel top. Some will come with accessories, some will not. Accesories include drawers and shelves. Drawers are positioned to the left or right. If not drawer, then a shelf is placed roughly 3 inches from the bottom.

Mobile Work Bench

Typical dimension comes in 60 (inches) x 36 (inches) x 34 (inches). The materials are usually made of plastic laminated top or maple top or steel top.
When you need to be portable, get a mobile work bench. At the rollers or wheels or casters, you can lock them for stationary position. Transport tools and hardware easily with a mobile work bench this way. There are 2 types; heavy duty and economy. The heavy duty one is toughened by design while the economy one has minimalistic design.

Specialty Work Benches

They are customized in design to suit your needs. Made for a specific need, some of them are made from hydraulic function, work station type, very heavy duty (with capacity of up to 16,000 pounds), etc.
