Heavy Duty Workbenches

When you are looking for heavy duty workbenches, you need high load capacity. Maybe your tools or hardware (being placed on the work bench) is heavy. Things like chainsaw, big metal tools, strong heavy vice clamps and so on weigh a ton. Normal benches would not survive at all and will bend easily. Therefore, you need heavy duty work benches.

You will find that capacities range from 4000 to 8000 pounds. This means you could put things on the table top which accumulates up to a maximum of 8000 pounds in weight, for example. This type of work bench is very sturdy and does not shake easily. It is stable to use for all your workshop needs.

Some will come with a 12 gauge shelf. Also, you would find that the legs are also heavy duty types. These specially built legs also house a lot of mounting holes or pads for ease of installation. Common material is steel. For further strength, the legs are designed such that they are interlinked with metal trusses.

A heavy duty work bench will come in a standard weight of 80 pounds and measure 32 inches (height) x 56 inches (width) x 28 inches (depth).  

On the other hand, there is also heavy duty plastic type of work bench. They are made from plastic. You will have a lower capacity (as compared with the steel type) of 1000 pounds. Usually, the plastic top is laminated with smoothed edges and corners.
