Stainless Steel Work Bench
There
are many kinds of steel work benches. One type that you should not ignore is the stainless steel work
benches.
Why go for stainless?
The reason is obvious if you want to avoid metal rust. Metal rust is hazardous and can cause tetanus if not
carefully used (rusty work bench). Therefore, safety is the factor you want when going for a stainless steel work
bench.
Food is a determining
factor too. If you have the habit of putting food on the work table or work bench, then you need to go stainless.
You would find that there are companies that make work benches with backsplashes or no backsplashes. Some companies
would even go as far as making a work bench that comes with shelves.
The most often used
material is the 16 GA 304 Stainless type. This ensures you get the maximum quality. Some stainless steel
material can rust easily because of the nature of the quality itself.
You can also find
that some tables come with lips at one edge. The table lip usually measures 1.5 inch that extends vertically
(perpendicular to the table top). They help you by protecting your tools and equipments from falling off the work
bench. This is a very useful feature but often overlooked by people when looking for a good work
bench.
There is also the
stainless steel workbench that comes with galvanized legs. What is galvanized steel?
Galvanization is a process that makes the steel immune to corrosion. Zinc layers are made to
protect the steel inside. In this case, rust cannot affect zinc, and therefore the stainless steel property.
Therefore, you should think about these galvanized legs. Not only should the top should be stainless steel, but the
legs should too.
